Ted Mahsun

1. I've noticed that when The GF is introduced to someone who's read the blog, they usually ask her, "do you know Ted calls you The GF on his blog?" She does know. I've talked with her about this before and she seems okay being referred to by two letters. In any case, it doesn't matter because she won't be called "The GF" on this blog anymore. 2. It's been a busy April for me! Aprils aren't usually busy months for me. It's my birth month after all, and I celebrate it by donning my sloth suit and sleeping everywhere. Not this year though! This year, instead of hibernating the whole month, I chose instead to get engaged to The Fiancée. 3. The wedding's in August, folks! It's a small ceremony* so apologies in advance if you don't get invited. (You wouldn't want to go to Kluang anyway.) 4. I finally got my hands on the complete DVD set of Blackadder which includes all four seasons and Blackadder...Back and Forth ! Hurray!

Kurt Vonnegut, author of Breakfast of Champions , Slaughterhouse Five and Cat's Cradle , just passed away . He was 84. That's a good age, I think. I still have an unread copy of Cat's Cradle I haven't read yet. Maybe now's a good time.

Today is my birthday, and the gf bought me these wonderful cupcakes to mark it. Pretty neat huh?

I suppose I've got to come out of my coconut shell now that I've got a mention in Quill magazine. I haven't seen the issue yet, but I hope they say nice things about me and my blog. Anyways, speaking of magazines, I picked up something odd recently. By odd, I mean something that doesn't really lie in the general populace's interests. I speak of Steam World . " Britain's Best-Selling Historical Railway Magazine ", the banner claims in full caps right at the top of the cover. I purchased this magazine for two reasons: 1) The concerns of said magazine is covered by my areas of interest, which is to say, I have more than a slight passing interest in choo-choo trains (blame Thomas ); and 2) it only cost six bucks, because it was a back issue from November 2006. When I found the time to browse through it, I was blown away. I was merely expecting articles with perhaps some generalised trivia sprinkled about, perhaps accompanied by some old archive photographs
