Went again to the Big Bookshop Warehouse Clearance sale again. Previous visit documented here. (Though why I called it "Big Bookstore" is beyond me... oh well, my bad.) Bought more books.
To those wondering how I managed to get these books even though I've said that I'm broke... well, all I can say is, "Thanks, dad!" I have no shame whatsoever when it comes to books.
The spoils:
I also visited MV Doulos, the book-ship that's docked in Klang. Er, it was nice, I guess. Had a brief revisit to my childhood when I saw three of Val Biro's Gumdrop children's books I had never seen before. Couldn't buy them though... too expensive at RM24 each.

ReplyDeleteHave fun going through all those books! Am going to the Sale today. Hopefully, they still have copies of Stephen Fry's book!
No worries... a huge stack of 'em awaits.
ReplyDeleteyou did well ted!!
ReplyDeletei think i gotta go again!!
Sharon, I think you should stop reading blogs that mentioned anything about going to a book sale. One day your house will be overtaken by books, then you can use them to make a house made of books, something like the house made of food in Hansel and Gretel. Then you can entice all the book lovers to drop by your house. They'll take a leaf here, a few pages there, and you've got them ensnared. Then you can lock them in a cage and force them to work for you while you spend the whole day reading and reading and of course, buying books from warehouse sales.
ReplyDeleteSharon, Ted, I've rewritten the Hansel and Gretel story on my blog. Dedicated to you guys.
ReplyDeleteI went there last Saturday and I bought errm, a full load of basket? Two of the books are from your list, Case Histories - Kate Atkinson and I'll Go To Bed At Noon - Gerard Woodward.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I bought stacks of the RM2 and RM3 recipe booklets for my mom too. Well, I think those are considered bribery, because now I need money for new shelf, which I promised her that I would install it this month. She couldn't take the way I arrange books (that can't fit current shelves now) on the floor. :SS
Hope you enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteooooh... i cant stand recipe books... they always make me go hungry. my mother always buys one or two from any warehouse sale and when I visit she shows them to me... just to make me hungry!
